Karaoke Super Stars,
in conjunction with Country Concert at Hickory Hill
Lakes and the Diamondback Saloon conducted an "Official
USA Karaoke Finals Preliminary Entry Contest"
at the Diamondback Saloon on Sunday, May 12, 2002.
Thirty of the area's most talented singers made the
event a rousing success.
First place went to Kimberly
Jewel of Dearborn Heights for her animated rendition
of "Hey Bobby" by K. T. Oslin. The First
Place Prize consisted of a $75.00 cash prize and an
opportunity to compete against the winners of the
other preliminary contests in the USA Karaoke Finals
at the Country Concert at Hickory Hill Lakes in Ft.
Loramie, Ohio, on Friday, July 12, 2002. Kimberly
didn't win at the USA Karaoke finals, but she performed
well and really had the crowd going.
Second place went to Frank A.
Licht of Hemlock for his moving performance of
Vince Gill's "If You Ever Have Forever In Mind."
The Second Place Prize consisted of a $50.00 cash
prize.
Third place went to Pauline
Tarr of Wayne for her exciting version of Trisha
Yearwood's "You Can Sleep While I Drive."
The Third Place Prize was a $25.00 cash prize.
Even though we were only able to
award three prizes, all of the contestants were excellent
performers and so all of them were winners in their
own right. All of the audience members were also winners,
because we saw an awesome show.
Congratulations to all of our
contestants and to our three prize winners! |
